PROBLEM STATEMENT

The Sustainable Development Goals of the UN seek to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change by 2030. These holistic, collaborative in-depth goals provide an agenda and plan of action for people, planet and prosperity. Help us find new efforts in reaching these goals with satellite technology. What does the future look like within the domains of health, education, or finance?

• Finance #1 – End poverty in all its forms everywhere

We are determined to ensure that all human beings can enjoy prosperous economic progress. Reimagine the future use of financial tools and how they can change the fact that more than 700 million people, or 10% of the world population, still live in extreme poverty.

• Health #3 – Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages

Healthcare systems are a central element in a functioning equal society, whether it is addressing major diseases like malaria and tuberculosis or assuring the presence of state-of-the-art health services ensuring a higher life quality. How can satellite based technology offer real benefits to medical practitioners working in remote locations?

• Education #4 – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all

262 million children and youth aged 6 to 17 are still classified outside of the school system. With the determination to provide equal education everywhere so that people can reach their full potential – how can satellite reach help education efforts in remote areas?

Challenge

Satellites offer advantages for mobile infrastructure backhaul and underserved-area connectivity, how can we leverage satellite technology and connectivity to boost the standards of health, education and finance equality?
